ICCL submission to the Mother and Baby Homes Redress Scheme

31 March 2021

ICCL submitted a piece to the Restorative Recognition programme for Mother and Baby Homes survivors.

We highlighted the human rights obligations on the State which this programme does not reach. We urged the government to learn from previous institutional redress schemes. Among other recommendations, we recommend that the government conduct effective investigations into what happened in all similar institutions in 20th century Ireland, and that they provide access to identity documents for adopted people.
