ICCL observations on Gender Equality Committee Proposals

16 November 2022

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) welcomes the proposals of the Gender Equality Committee to update the Irish Constitution to reflect current human rights law and standards with regards to non-discrimination and gender equality.

We have made a series of recommendations for changes to Articles 40.1, 41.1 and 41.2 of the Irish Constitution to ensure that domestic and international human rights standards and obligations are better protected in Ireland.
